Spicing Up Our Popcorn

For our kids farewell party we had a backyard movie night. And you know what movies mean... POPCORN... and candy, but we'll get to the candy later. For now, popcorn seasonings!
I printed out some labels that gave the illusion of them being written on a chalkboard. I made these using Photoshop. I wish I knew how to use it well enough to explain how I made the image, but it really just involved some trial and error. After that I just printed them out on address labels and cut them to size.

As for the popcorn, I am a little weird when it come to popcorn. I only make the real kind, no microwaved popshizzle here, at this house. I am a fairly new convert to the real stuff too, within the last year or so. It's cheaper, better for you, and it's actually fun to make. Pop! POp! POP!
When it comes to the seasonings the kids favorite was the cinnamon sugar. That's kind of a no brainer.
My favorite so far has been the combo of HOT HOT HOT and garlic salt.

The garlic salt was super simple as it was actually my neighbor's seasoned garlic salt with parsley. Hey, I'm moving and I didn't want to buy more spices that I would have to give away any how.

The Hot Hot Hot is just a combo of cayenne pepper, chili powder, cumin, and kosher salt. Super simple!
